Summer Service Team in Moscow

Seven American pairs of tired feet now walk the streets of Moscow, as the Summer Service Team on which two of our sons serve applies its talents here. Fresh from a childrens' camp in the woods of Northwestern Russia, the team has visited two Moscovian Salvation Army Corps and several historical sites. Saturday some of the team will play in a brass quintet for our Territorial Commissioning.

Monday we will have the whole team over for fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and other good "home-cooked" items to celebrate the 4th of July.

Anita remains frantically but productively busy finalizing Commissioning details. Please pray for a meaningful and (logistically) successful weekend.

In His peace,

Anita and Brad

Summer Service Team arrives luggage-less!

Two of our sons, Justin and Jaron, arrived in St. Petersburg yesterday without any luggage for them or their five other teammates. But since they arrived in St. Pete around seventy hours after leaving the Atlanta airport, they were just happy to have achieved their destination. We should see the team in about a week!

Welcome to our world...glad you are here!

Just an initial note to greet all visitors. We will be learning how to develop a "blog" as we share with you, so hopefully you will see improved content and interaction as we grow.

We live in Moscow, Russia Federation, as those of you reading this site probably know. We have lived overseas for four years now as missionary officers in The Salvation Army, serving human needs--both physical and spiritual--in the name and spirit of Jesus Christ.

Right now we are finishing the last few weeks before new officers will be commissioned (ordained as clergy) and sent to their new service locations around the five countries of our Territory.

Thanks to those who have prayed for Anita's foot problems. Today was an especially painful day for her to walk, but soon she will return to America for surgery and three weeks of recovery.

We should see two of our three sons soon, as they are on summer service team assignment with The Salvation Army, flying into Saint Petersburg this Sunday!! We will so enjoy talking with them face to face again after over a year apart.

That's the news for now--have a strong day in the Lord!
